The Week That Was
It has been a while since I did one of these “dear diary” type posts, so I thought it was about time to do one again.
In the week that has just been I have been observing the new moon, reading a book length Nick Cave interview, listening to Abattoir Blues while I clean my apartment, drinking skin contact red wine, and thinking about population collapse.
What I have been Doing: New Moon, New Goals
This last weekend (17th and 18th of June) was a typical before the new moon/new moon weekend for me. I cleaned on Saturday before the new moon on Sunday. I usually use the last weekend before the new moon to clean, but this weekend I did both.
I spent Sunday morning in the Nature’s Energy Bathhouse in Balmain and then went home to wash my hair and make my plans for the month ahead.
Last month my goal was to help protect and promote freedom of speech and as such I was working hard on some exciting projects including laying the foundations for the Free Speech Union in Australia. Last month’s goal was very outwards focused.
This month my goals are far more personal.
My goal is to put a lot of energy into attracting a person I can build a life with.
In the measurable/concrete metrics for success in this goal, I have decided to clean up my diet in order to fix my skin primarily (I have had a persistent allergy rash for a month or so now) and secondarily maybe lose a bit of the fat that I rapidly gained recently.
I am (as of the day I am writing this) starting the first day of hardcore lion diet for two weeks. The reason for this is mostly because it is an elimination diet that is a little less painful than the pear only diet that is usually recommended for allergy suffers. I just did 5 days of loin diet last week and 2 “cheat” days over the weekend and the difference was kind of miraculous. Within two days of steak only (but drinking whatever I like) my very bad and persistent allergy rash cleared up. If that is what 2 days on the lion diet can do, I am now wondering what 2 weeks will do.
I will then reassess at the full moon (on the 3rd of July) as to whether I want to continue it for the full month or start adding things back in.
Attracting a partner (particularly if you are a woman) is very much a matter of looks so clearing my rash and losing the fat is probably the most concrete of things I am doing to enact this goal.
In the less tangible is making wishes that I find a partner that I can develop, play, build, and connect with (see last week’s piece) and focusing on connecting with people this month. I might not have a partner but if I want to be ready for when one appears I really need to be more forthcoming with my inner life than I naturally am (and why for this month you will be getting a lot more of these quite personal pieces).
